I was fortunate enough to have my own business at age 31. As I was building a business my husband Rod and I were building our family. Five years later, I moved the business out of our home and hired my first full-time employee. In 2002, Rod and I built the building where J.A. Huth & Associates, Inc. resides today. There were plenty of obstacles along the way but by turning those obstacles into knowledge I’ve been able to use those experiences to help clients grow their businesses. I’ve been fortunate to have great advisors and passionate employees all share in this journey with me. Together we are proud of what we have accomplished. I love waking up every morning to a career that is so rewarding. Partnering with clients to grow their businesses is definitely a life-long passion of mine.

I have been with the firm since November 2000 when we were only a three-woman team. I began my accounting career in a manufacturing firm for the first few years, before moving to public accounting. Since then, I have done accounting, payroll and taxes for over twenty-five years, becoming an Enrolled Agent in July 1996. I also work with QuickBooks for my clients, having used the software from the time it was first introduced. I especially love working with all my clients and building close relationships along the way.
Liz Sumnicht
I’ve been a staff member since January 2006. After returning to college as a nontraditional student and receiving a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, I am thrilled to work with Julie, her staff, and clients. I do a little bit of everything – tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll. I also process the bills and receivables for J.A. Huth & Associates.
Amy De Santis
I joined the J.A. Huth & Associates team in January of 2014. I bring an Associate’s Degree and seven years of experience in preparation of payroll, payroll tax reporting, sales tax reporting, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and individual/business/non-profit tax return preparation. I am a people person! I love working with people to not only help them understand certain processes, but to provide support for the things they don’t understand. I could not ask for a better group of teammates that strive to give their clients only the best.

I came to J.A. Huth & Associates 4 years ago as a customer. In our initial meeting, I mentioned to Julie that I was looking for a part-time finance job. A couple months later, I was answering the phone and greeting customers for one of the best companies I have ever worked for. I have an MBA from the University of Dallas and an undergraduate degree in Finance from UW-Eau Claire. I come with a broad background in financial services, tax preparation, and business ownership. Currently, I am a tax and accounting associate for the company. I look forward to establishing relationships with the clients of J.A. Huth & Associates and continuing my career with integrity and compassion that Julie’s business is so well known for.
Theresa Lauer, CPA
My mission is to help people…in their lives, in their businesses, in their passions – I just happen to do it with numbers. While I’m the newest member of Julie’s team, I’m not new to the world of accounting. After I earned my CPA license, I spent the first 10 years of my career honing my tax skills at a large international accounting firm. I decided my career path needed to take a turn (or several) and so my winding road has included launching, running and selling a business as well as working as the chief numbers gal for a non-profit. With an abundance of real world experience, I have now made my way back to public accounting where I feel I can best use what I have learned to help others. Outside of work my loves are spending time with family, getting creative in the kitchen, building legos with my kids and working in the yard with my husband.
